History

Wilson Veterinary Hospital was opened by Dr. John F. Wilson as a community-based practice in 1990. The original hospital was located in a converted, historic-type house in Romeo, Michigan.

Since that time, the area around us has experienced considerable growth. In addition, our facility has become a regional center, taking referrals and surgeries from North Macomb County. In order to keep up with the demand, we found it necessary to build a larger facility in 1999 on a new site approximately one-half mile away from the original hospital. This 6,300 square foot hospital is located at 12000 Durham, off of old Van Dyke in Washington, MI. This larger hospital has enabled us to provide specialized services to our clients such as boarding for geriatric and medical patients, 24-hour overnight care and emergency services.

As expected, the jump from our original hospital to this new location has been quite a transition for staff and clients alike. Please visit the Client Services and Information page, which will assist you in navigating your way through our hospital and procedures.
