Some surgeries are recommended based on exam findings to help minimize the risk of injury or illness or to prevent the progression of the disease. These procedures include, but are not limited to:

Procedures such as intestinal foreign body removal, correction of gastric dilation-volvulus (bloat), and intestinal resection-anastomosis for tumors or strictures.

Surgical removal of the spleen, often due to trauma or tumors.

Skin and Subcutaneous Surgery

Laryngeal and Pharyngeal Surgery

For conditions like laryngeal paralysis or elongated soft palate in brachycephalic breeds.

Thoracic Surgery

Procedures such as lung lobectomy, pericardectomy (removal of part or all of the pericardium), or treatment of diaphragmatic hernias.

Orthopedic Soft Tissue Surgery

Including repair of cruciate ligament tears, joint luxations, or tendon and ligament injuries.

Ophthalmic Surgery

Procedures like eyelid tumor removal, entropion or ectropion correction, or cherry eye surgery.

ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) Surgery

For conditions such as ear hematoma repair, nasopharyngeal polyps, or stenotic nares correction.

Reconstructive Surgery

To repair defects or deformities caused by trauma, congenital abnormalities, or previous surgical interventions.

Emergency Soft Tissue Surgery

For acute conditions such as traumatic injuries, hemorrhage control, or acute abdominal emergencies.

Surgical correction of eyelid abnormalities where the eyelids roll inward (entropion) or outward (ectropion).

Cherry Eye Surgery

Surgical repair of a prolapsed gland of the third eyelid.

Mass Removal

Excision of various soft tissue masses, including skin tumors and cysts.

Tail Amputation due to Vertebral Malformation (Corkscrew Tail)

Surgical removal of part or all of the tail affected by congenital or acquired malformation.

Brachycephalic Syndrome Surgery

Procedures such as stenotic nares correction (widening of the nostrils) and elongated soft palate resection to improve breathing in brachycephalic (short-nosed) breeds.

Cleft Palate Repair

Surgical closure of congenital or acquired openings in the roof of the mouth.

Prophylactic Gastropexy

Surgical fixation of the stomach to the abdominal wall to prevent gastric torsion (bloat) in at-risk breeds.

Hernia Repair

Surgical correction of abdominal wall hernias, including inguinal, umbilical, or diaphragmatic hernias.
