One last thing, the Sparky Fund is a great program they run that helps out pets in need and finds them good homes!!
Hello, my name is Chance and I am a 3 year old Chinese Sharpei with a Bear Coat appearance. On Tuesday morning I had eye surgery done by Dr. Wilson at the Wilson Romeo Vet hospital and when I was released that afternoon my owner “Joe” came to pick me up and take me home. The staff had installed a large round clear plastic cone around my head to prevent me from scratching & pawing at my eyes. BUT! When Joe was trying to place me into the rear seat of our car, the cone struck the door car frame, startling me and I jumped out of his hands and onto the pavement. Joe tried to grab my leash but I quickly ran out of his grasp and around to the other side of the hospital. Joe chased after me and was soon accompanied by several other hospital staff who also were trying to capture me and take me back to the car. But I was having none of that, as I was very scared and upset at that point and continued to run away to what I thought was a safer place.
I jumped up and into a field and forest area as they were calling out my name. Hey continued after me and I continued to run further and further away, crossing streets and more dense forest areas. The only problem I was having, was with this darn , plastic cone around my neck and head area because it kept banging into all the shrubbery as I ran. Well, I soon came upon a large round metal tube with some water in it, so I ran into it to get away from all the people chasing after me. Fortunately, one of them (Liz P) saw me enter the large tube and she followed me until She captured me and stopped me from probably drowning myself, because the water was getting deeper and I could not swim!
She guided me to an area where there was a street grate outlet above us at street level . Liz then called for help and they contacted the 911 emergency service to come and help us get out of there. They very quickly responded and removed the grate so Liz could lift me up into the rescue team’s hands. And then they amazingly also grabbed Liz and somehow slowly got her up to street level above the storm grate!
Fantastic, now I was captured and Liz and I were soaking wet and smelly, so we thanked our rescuers and went back to the hospital where they gave me a bath and dried me off so I could go home. Liz , soaking wet, then went home so she could shower.
Once I was released again, the staff placed me in the car and Joe drove me home. Wow!!! What an experience and I can’t begin to say enough to all of the wonderful staff and especially to Liz P for rescuing me and saving me from possible death.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, I love you all.
